Images can be in one of many file formats delivered over the web and to your screen. We support PNG, JPG and SVG. These formats are supported by virtually all computers on the web. Each has advantages and disadvantages.
|
| SVG |
SVG is our base format. It has the advantage that it scales without pixilation. When the screen is zoomed in the image maintains a good appearance. Printed images remain crisp and do not become fuzzy like a PNG or JPG might.
Browsers that do not support SVG are delivered a PNG file.
|
| PNG |
PNG is a lossless format, but will be larger for typical photos. It is best for line art or simple graphics.
|
| JPG |
JPG is good for photos but can have undesirable artifacts if text is overlaid.
|
| Animated formats are not allowed |
Our pages are designed with printing in mind. Therefore animated formats, such as GIF, Flash, Silverlight, or scripted ads are not supported.
