ShofarNexus™ ● Goals

The goals of ShofarNexus™ are simplicity and performance in a distributed environment. We enumerate the goals below and provide a detailed explanation and status of each.

These goals are always being refined and clarified and we invite your comments and questions. Please email us at Goals@ShofarNexus.com.

ShofarEmbedded™ ● Performance and Simplicity
ShofarNexus™ and ShofarEmbedded™ focus on performance and simplicity.
The ShofarNexus™ core is designed to fit within one megabyte. By keeping the software small and simple it can be highly refined for performance and security.
The simple design also results in extreme performance with a typical sustained response time of less than a millisecond. This level of performance results is greater usability and virtually no need for server farms.
ShofarEmbedded™ ● Flat Memory Model
ShofarEmbedded™ ● Flat Memory Model
The design of ShofarEmbedded™ uses a simple flat memory model that eliminates the need for hardware memory management, paging files, garbage collection, and inter-process communications overhead.
ShofarEmbedded™ ● Immutable Data
ShofarEmbedded™ ● Immutable Data
Immutable data is a key design concept in ShofarNexus™ and ShofarEmbedded™. Immutable data is written once and remains unchanged. Immutability provides ease of reliably distributing data to multiple locations. Data is easily archived and reconstructed from archives. Complete records exist of all previous versions and data can be restored from any point.
Immutable data also allows for a simplified file system in solid state memory systems and direct memory mapped files.
